Colts rookie tight end Tyler Warren’s arrival in Indianapolis is one of two main headlines surrounding the team this offseason.
The other? The quarterback showdown between incumbent Anthony Richardson Sr. and newly-signed Daniel Jones.
After Indy’s second practice of training camp on Thursday, Warren shared his view on the two passers and the challenge of building chemistry with each of them. The rookie said he isn’t affected by the constant alternation of snaps.
“It doesn’t really make a difference (to me),” he said. “They’re both really good quarterbacks, so it’s easy to have chemistry with both of them.”
In college at Penn State, Warren had two different starting quarterbacks, Sean Clifford and Drew Allar, in his four years, helping him record over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and score 25 touchdowns.
Now, in his first professional season, he could hit that number in one season.
If the Colts are right on their evaluation of Warren, however, it may not matter in the end. As long as he develops into a dynamic tight end who’s a quarterback’s best friend, whoever’s under center won’t make a difference.
