Brazil have looked in good form so far in Friday’s international friendly against South Korea in Seoul.

The Selecao hold a 2-0 lead at halftime courtesy of a fine close-range finish from Estevao, and a brilliant Rodrygo goal at the end of a slick team move.

Brazil came through a troubled World Cup qualifying period to finish fifth in the CONMEBOL standings and secure a place at next year’s finals. Now, it’s all about Carlo Ancelotti preparing for the event.

Hong Myung-bo’s South Korea have been vociferously supported by the home fans, who gave a rousing reception to Son Heung-min as the captain set a new all-time appearance record for his country, but they have been second best in this contest.

South Korea vs. Brazil highlights, key events

41 mins: GOAL! Magnificent from Rodrygo! A flowing Brazil move sees Vinicius with the ball to the left of the box. Rodrygo dummies his cut-back and receives a first-time pass from Casemiro, then drops a shoulder to unbalance the defenders and slots the ball into the net. That’s a wonderful goal.

13 mins: GOAL! Brazil strike first, and it’s Estevao with the breakthrough! Bruno Guimaraes threads a super pass into the Chelsea forward’s path in the box, and he side-foots high into the net over the onrushing Jo Hyeon-woo. Excellent finish.

7 mins: South Korea pay tribute to captain Son Heung-min as he becomes their all-time most capped player, with 137 senior international appearances. The cheer inside the stadium in Seoul is deafening.
