World Series 2025 live score: Dodgers vs. Blue Jays updates, results, highlights from Game 6

The Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from their third World Series title.

After losing a tough, 18-inning marathon to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3, the Blue Jays bounced back with two-straight victories in Games 4 and 5 to take control of the series. Now, the series heads back to Toronto with the Dodgers needing to win two consecutive games on the road to secure their back-to-back.

Game 6 promises to be great matchup. with both teams’ aces set to take the hill. Los Angeles will start Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is coming of an impressive complete game victory in Game 2 of the series, while Toronto will counter with Game 2’s loser, Kevin Gausman.

However, Gausman has produced to a 2.55 ERA in the playoffs this year, throwing at least 5.2 innings in his for starts before Friday’s game. Yamamoto, however, has had a dominant playoffs with a 1.57 ERA and two-straight complete games, allowing just four runs in 47.1 innings.

The Blue Jays were MLB’s second-best team at home this year, sporting a 54-27 record, but they are just 4-4 in eight home games so far in the postseason. The Dodgers, though, were just 41-40 on the road in 2025 but are 5-1 as the road team in the playoffs.

For Los Angeles to tie the series, it will need the offense to come to life, as the team has scored three runs in its last two games combined. Mookie Betts specifically has struggled, while the bottom of the Dodgers’ lineup has been ice cold all series. Toronto, on the other hand, will try to keep up its hot hitting, having scored at least five runs in for of the previous five games.

8:57 p.m.: Gausman strikes out Teoscar Hernandez for his eighth of the day, limiting the damage at three runs.

8:55 p.m.: Freeman walks to load the bases, and Mookie Betts comes through with a huge two-run single.

8:49 p.m.: After Gausman intentionally walks Ohtani, Will Smith drives a double to left field to open the scoring.

8:46 p.m.: Tommy Edman gets a one-out double for the Dodgers’ first hit of the night.

End of second inning: Dodgers 0, Blue Jays 0

8:41 p.m.: Yamamoto sets the Blue Jays down in order to keep the action at a minimum.

8:33 p.m.: Gausman collects two more strikeouts and has retired six-straight Dodgers to begin the game.

8:24 p.m.: Max Muncy commits an error to allow a runner, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. bails him out by grounding into a double play.

8:22 p.m.: Springer grounds out in his first at bat, but he was noticeably grimacing during the at bat.

8:17 p.m.: Gausman strikes out the side to open Game 6 with a bang, getting Ohtani, Smith and Freeman all swinging on the splitter.

8:10 p.m.: Kevin Gausman throws a strike to Shohei Ohtani and we are underway!

8:02 p.m.: We are moments away from first pitch live from Rogers Center.

7:45 p.m.: Dave Roberts said Shohei Ohtani is not available to pitch tonight, but Tyler Glasnow is available out of the bullpen.

7:20 p.m.: If the Blue Jays win tonight, they will become the first team to clinch the World Series at home since the Houston Astros did it in 2022, and only the second team to do so in the last 12 years.

6:55 p.m.: The Dodgers are looking for a big start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto to extend this series.

6:25 p.m.: It’s Halloween night, so some Blue Jays came to the ballpark dressed up in their costumes.

6:05 p.m.: The Dodgers have a much different look tonight, with Mookie Betts batting cleanup for the first time since 2017 and Miguel Rojas starting at 2B.

5:40 p.m.: For the first time since Game 3, George Springer is in the lineup for the Blue Jays, as he is the designated hitter and batting first.

Game 6 of the 2025 World Series will take place in Toronto on Halloween night of Friday, October 31. First pitch will be at just after 8:00 p.m. ET from Rogers Center.
