Arizona vs. Louisville baseball live score, updates, highlights from 2025 College World Series knockout game

Someone’s national championship dreams will end in Omaha on Sunday.

Louisville and Arizona both entered the College World Series hoping to take their momentum and ride it all the way to a title, but the harsh reality of the tournament puts both of their seasons on the line after Friday losses.

Louisville’s last-gasp effort against Oregon State fell just short on Friday, with the Cardinals struggling against Beavers starter Dax Whitney but tying the game with a ninth-inning rally. Oregon State walked it off in the bottom of the ninth, however, sending Louisville to an elimination game.

Arizona, meanwhile, couldn’t snap Coastal Carolina’s win streak, with the Chanticleers’ three-run rally in the eighth inning breaking a 4-4 stalemate and powering the Sun Belt champions to a win.

Louisville will look to get its offense going earlier against the Wildcats, while Arizona will have to find a way to efficiently get outs after allowing 14 hits in Friday’s loss. The loser of Sunday’s game will be eliminated, while the winner will again face elimination against the loser of Sunday night’s matchup between Coastal Carolina and Oregon State.

The Sporting News is tracking live scoring updates and highlights from Sunday’s College World Series elimination game between Arizona and Louisville. Follow along below as both teams fight to stay alive.

Arizona vs. Louisville live updates, highlights from College World Series

(All times Eastern)

3:56 p.m. — What a job by Bailey to close out the inning with three quick outs, including an inning-ending flying from Jake Munroe. Arizona survives, and Louisville now has 12 outs to work with.

3:51 p.m. — Kamau Neighbors and Alex Alicea open the bottom of the fifth with a pair of infield hits, and this is an opportunity Louisville won’t want to waste.

3:43 p.m. — This time, Guzman strikes out.

3:41 p.m. — Danilowicz gets two quick outs to open the fifth, but Guzman is coming up with 2 RBI already to his name today.

End of fourth inning: Arizona 3, Louisville

3:36 p.m. — Smith Bailey works around a couple self-inflicted mistakes (walk, hit-by-pitch) and gets through the fourth unscathed. Louisville’s offense is off to a slow start for the second consecutive game, and this 3-1 deficit is familiar territory for the Cardinals.

3:24 p.m. — Eberle has been replaced by Wyatt Danilowicz, who strikes out Summerhill to end the threat. Summerhill has been retired three times in four innings today.

3:19 p.m. — Eberle notches his fifth strikeout of the day to get the second out. Arizona is still threatening.

3:17 p.m. — Tommy Splaine follows a hit-by-pitch with a single, and Arizona has something brewing again with one out.

End of third inning: Arizona 3, Louisville 1

3:10 p.m. — What a catch by Easton Breyfogle to save a run! Louisville nearly cut its deficit back to one, but Breyfogle ends the third himself with Arizona’s 3-1 advantage intact.

3:03 p.m. — Arizona nearly induces a double play, but Alex Alicea beats the out to keep a runner at first.

3:02 p.m. — Kamau Neighbors leads off the bottom of the third with a single for Louisville.

2:59 p.m. — Eberle strikes out Maddox Mihalakis to end the inning, but Arizona gets its run back and has a two-run advantage entering the bottom of the third.

Arizona 3, Louisville 1

2:56 p.m. HOME RUN — Adonys Guzman blasts a two-out home run to push Arizona’s lead back to two! Guzman has now driven in two of the Wildcats’ three runs.

End of second inning: Arizona 2, Louisville 1

2:48 p.m. — Bailey works around the rest of the troubles and gets out of the inning with only one run allowed. Arizona still leads through two, but there is no room for comfort.

Arizona 2, Louisville 1

2:46 p.m. — Jake Munroe scores on a groundout, and Louisville is on the board to cut Arizona’s lead in half.

2:44 p.m. — Back-to-back singles have the Cardinals in business to start off the bottom of the second.

2:40 p.m. — Eberle gets Summerhill out for the second time today, and Louisville gets through the second unscathed.

2:38 p.m. — Louisville gets the double play. A much-needed momentum shift after the first inning got out of hand.

2:36 p.m. — Tommy Splaine opens the second inning with a single, so Eberle’s troubles weren’t left behind in the first.

End of first inning: Arizona 2, Louisville 0

2:29 p.m. — Smith Bailey goes 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first, retiring Louisville in order to set the tone despite such a long wait.

2:24 p.m. — Eberle gets out of the inning, but not before Arizona plates two runs.

Arizona 2, Louisville 0

2:22 p.m. RBI SINGLE — Garen Caulfield singles into right for another run! Louisville cannot get out of this inning, and Arizona has an early 2-run advantage.

Arizona 1, Louisville 0

2:18 p.m. RBI SINGLE — Adonys Guzman comes through with an RBI single! White is out trying to get to third, but the Wildcats have an early run on the board.

2:16 p.m. — Mason White is drilled after an Aaron Walton hit-by-pitch, so Arizona already has something brewing here with two on and one out.

2:10 p.m. — Ethan Eberle gets his day started on the mound with a strikeout of Brendan Summerhill.

1:55 p.m. — And the lineup for Louisville:
