Eli Manning's Hall of Fame fate revealed in 2nd year of voting on Giants' legendary QB

Eli Manning has missed out, again.

For the second consecutive year, the New York Giants quarterback has failed to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

That news was reported Wednesday by The Athletic’s Ian O’Connor.

“Eli Manning will have to wait at least another year for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, according to multiple league sources,” O’Connor writes. “The former New York Giants quarterback did not make the cut after being one of the 15 modern-era finalists for the second consecutive year.”

Manning is one of six players in NFL history win the Super Bowl MVP award multiple times.

The other five: Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Bart Starr, Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.

Manning’s double Super Bowl glory was extra special, because both victories came over Brady and a pair of impressive Patriots teams.

His regular season record was 117-117, although that was weighed down by struggles later in his career.

Manning ranks 11th all-time in both career passing yards and passing touchdowns, and he was seventh in both categories when he retired after 2019.

He also had a streak of 210 straight starts in the middle of his career, which is the third-longest streak ever.

But at least for now, Manning will have to wait.

The fact that he has been a finalist each of the two years suggest he’s probably pretty close, but Giants fans and Manning will have to wait.
