The Baltimore Orioles have been active this offseason, adding a ton of talent all across the roster on both the pitching staff and in the lineup.
All of these moves have turned into what should be a contender in the American League. Baltimore has turned the 2025-2026 offseason into a great one, as their offseason is one of the best in the league.
Jim Bowden of The Athletic gave the Orioles an “A” grade for their offseason moves, and that’s even with Bowden pointing out how the team still needs another impact starter. The Orioles need another frontline starter, and they still had one of the best offseasons.
Orioles given ‘A’ grade for elite offseason even with frontline SP need
“The Orioles got serious this offseason, ” Bowden writes. “…Will the Orioles make one more big move this offseason, perhaps signing Framber Valdez or Zac Gallen? If they are able to add another front-line starter, they should get back to the playoffs.”
This offseason has been a successful one already, but if they can find a way to sign someone like Framber Valdez or Zac Gallen, their roster could be complete.
They already added Shane Baz and Zach Eflin to the rotation this winter, and combined with Trevor Rogers, Kyle Bradish, and Dean Kramer, the Orioles could use another frontline starter.
Valdez is the best fit as a lefty, but Gallen would also work as a high-profile addition for the Orioles this offseason. Adding talent to the rotation is the only thing left for the Orioles, as their lineup is very strong.
Pete Alosno and Taylor Ward rounded out a lineup that can be one of the best in the league. The Orioles can contend atop the Major Leagues, and it’s thanks in large part to the incredible moves they’ve made this offseason.
Bowden gave the Orioles an “A” grade for their offseason, and that’s even though the team could still use another frontline starter like Valdez or Gallen.
If that’s not a good indication of a good offseason, it would be hard to make the case that this winter has gone any other than exceptionally well.
