Vikings' 4-time Pro Bowler retires from NFL at age 32

Vikings' 4-time Pro Bowler retires from NFL at age 32

The Minnesota Vikings are losing a leader to retirement.

Ryan Kelly, the four-time Pro Bowl center, has announced he’s hanging up his cleats after 10 NFL seasons at age 32.

Kelly shared the news himself with a post on X, writing:

“10 seasons. What an incredible ride it was. I was blessed to be around some of the greatest people this sport has to offer. I always wanted to leave each place better than how I found it and with that I can hang my hat. Forever grateful for my family and brothers! Cheers.”

Kelly entered the NFL in 2016 out of Alabama. He was a first-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts, No. 16 overall.

He went to all four of his Pro Bowls with Indy as he spent the first nine years of his career there.

Kelly played in 121 games with the Colts, all starts.

He then came to the Vikings before the 2025 season. Injuries limited Kelly to just eight games (all starts) this past season for Minnesota.

He had to be a steadying force for a time that worked its way through different quarterbacks and never really found a solution.

The Vikings will still need to solve the QB problem this offseason. They’ll also need to figure out what they’re doing at center.

Kelly, meanwhile, will head into the next chapter of his life.
