Analyst reveals major Bills storyline to follow after NFL Draft

It has been a big offseason for the Buffalo Bills, with Sean McDermott moving on and Joe Brady taking over.

But with Jim Leonhard taking over the defense, there are a lot of fresh faces in the building, and many think it will take time before things start moving in unison.

The NFL Draft has come and gone, with the Bills trading back and picking up more draft capital, and with more picks, Buffalo filled out its roster well.

But for NFL.com’s Eric Edholm, in his latest power ranking piece in which he has Buffalo at No. 4, his big question after the draft is how quickly Leonhard’s defense can come together.

“How quickly can this defense come together under new coordinator Jim Leonhard? That will be one of the big storylines of the offseason,” Edholm writes. “First-year head coach Joe Brady has a lot of pressure here, but also a potential Super Bowl-caliber team.”

Bills under pressure from Day 1

McDermott was moved on for the consistent failure in the postseason, so I’d imagine Brady and his staff will be looking over their shoulders from the get-go here.

Getting T.J. Parker and Davison Igbinosun with their first two picks, the Bills added depth/rotational pieces along the defensive line and the secondary.

The draft felt very defensive-focused, which many thought would be how the Bills approached it, and now all that is left is for Leonhard to bring it all together.

And it can’t take time either, this regime needs to get off and running from Week 1.
