Dodgers predicted to have 'abrupt' end to dynasty vs. Braves

Are the Los Angeles Dodgers in trouble?

With the series tied 1-1, Los Angeles heads on the road to take on Chris Sale and the Atlanta Braves in Game 3 of the NLDS on Tuesday night.

Postseason hero Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the mound for the Dodgers in the most important game of the year.

Before the first pitch of Game 3, ESPN’s Jesse Rogers has made a very bold prediction about how the rest of the series and the Dodgers’ dynasty will play out.

“Walt Weiss’ master strategy of holding back Chris Sale will pay off in Game 3, and then the weight of the world will be on the Dodgers for Game 4,” Rogers wrote. “It’ll end there. Then, they’ll start to show their age while the lockout next season prevents them from managing their oft-injured pitchers properly this winter or in a normal spring training.”

Rogers is predicting that the Dodgers will fall short in the NLDS. Not only that, but also that Los Angeles won’t manage to win a postseason series next October.

As the back-to-back World Series champions, this would be a staggering falloff for a Dodgers core that has dominated each of the past two seasons.

“Adding insult to injury, River Ryan and Zyhir Hope star for the Tigers as the Dodgers’ dynasty comes to an abrupt halt,” Rogers added. “You asked for bold … right?”

It certainly is a bold prediction from Rogers, considering the Dodgers have one of the best postseason pitchers of the last decade on the mound in Game 3.
